Programming - Analog Bulk, IPTV and Digital Subscriptions

Private communication and control systems are among our core competencies. Systems are designed to support the mission objectives of our clients, whether the functions are created for educational or institutional purposes, or to improve the residential quality of life. Our normal business model for university/institutional systems is not primarily intended to generate revenue from residents.

The university market provides a unique set of challenges for video services. Factors such as transient or seasonal occupancy of residents, ambiguity of subscription opportunities (i.e. group viewing in a common room), and room access/escort issues, etc. can make it difficult to service this market effectively. Falls Earth Station has developed business models that balance the economic benefits and institutional utility of bulk universal service deployment method with the programming choice of the individual subscription method. Historically, all universal services were provided in standard analog NTSC format and all subscription services in digital QAM format. Currently, the company has expanded to include IP delivery of both bulk and subscription services.

Digital delivery of programming services, coupled with Internet based, self provisioning account management has been replacing analog based, traditionally managed subscription systems in the campus environment. Our business models allow clients to tailor their participation in the system capitalization, maintenance and operation to suit their own goals. Such participation models range from Falls Earth Station providing all the plant installation/upgrade, maintenance and operation in return for a fixed term contract at a negotiated monthly rate; to providing programming and back-office support to existing systems. Our clients select the programming channel lineup and assignment, as well as locally originated channels they want to support educational and institutional missions such as bulletin board, local views, foreign languages, local weather, or dining hall menus and class registration information, etc.

System Maintenance & Operation

As an ISO 9001 certified company, Falls Earth Station employs control processes which meet internationally recognized standards, produce measurable results, and result in continuous improvement. In addition to ISO, BICSI, IEEE, EIA/TIA standards, we adhere to all fire, security alarm, electrical and safety codes, as well as those standards set by the institution and personal preference of the client. Falls Earth Station maintains a core of professionally trained technicians and installers for system maintenance, performance testing, rebuild or upgrade.

We are experienced, licensed and certified for installation of all types of video system origination and distribution systems including fiber optic, coaxial broadband, hybrid fiber-coaxial, high-speed data networks, wireless, large aperture satellite, digital satellite, microwave and infrared.

We can successfully navigate your project through regulatory, common carrier, municipal right-of-way, RFP and vendor issues from concept to reality.
